Who we are

Arts Learning Consortium is a network of cultural organisations, local authorities, education settings and freelance creative practitioners. We champion the importance of arts and creativity to learning, by sharing and disseminating ideas, information and good practice. We believe that: - Children and young people have an entitlement to high quality arts, creative and cultural learning opportunities. This entitlement extends to every child and young person; the arts can be enjoyed and experienced in many different ways. - All children and young people, and those who work with them, have the right to engage in the arts as a means of understanding self, others, their society and societies that are different from their own. - Children and young people should be co-constructors of learning; we will support and promote pupil agency. - Collaboration between providers can enhance the quality of arts learning. - We are committed to moving forward understandings of arts learning through research, communities of interest and continuous professional development. - The arts achievements of children and young people, and those who work with them, should be celebrated at local, regional, national and international levels.
